Accomodations and Meals
The Hummingbird Healing Center offers private retreats as well as retreats for small groups. Each of our retreats include all plant medicines, meals, laundry service and transportation to and from the center.
We’ve created comfortable surroundings and amenities set in a beautiful tropical forest environment so that you can be physically content and at ease while doing this deep and often challenging work. Our aim is for you to relax while you process and integrate the work done during ayahuasca ceremony.
A Sanctuary for Integration and Rest
Our common areas are designed for deep unwinding. Whether you prefer the cool shade of the porch or the comfort of an indoor lounge, you’ll find plush couches, hammocks, and quiet corners to process your journey. Our library is fully stocked with literature on Ayahuasca, Huachuma, and diverse spiritual traditions, while art supplies are always at hand for those who wish to paint or draw their visions into form.
The retreat grounds are a living extension of the tropical forest, exquisitely landscaped to attract indigenous birds and wildlife. These gardens allow you to sit directly in the "splendor" that photos often fail to capture. You are invited to wander our garden paths through lush greenery and vibrant blooms, or find a bench under a shady canopy to listen to the forest breathe.
Throughout the center, streams flow under small wooden bridges, leading to a natural swimming pond where you can cool down and refresh your spirit. It is a space where the natural healing power of the Amazon is not just a backdrop, but a participant in your journey.
Notably, our specific location does not suffer from the heavy mosquito pressure common in other parts of the jungle. While we always recommend natural repellents for peace of mind, most guests find they can move comfortably through our grounds without needing them. It is one less distraction, allowing you to stay fully present in your healing.
Your Private Sanctuary
To support the inward nature of your journey, every guest is provided a private room in one of our traditional tambos. Set back into the vibrant greenery of the forest, these rooms offer the perfect balance of comfort and immersion. Each space features a comfortable bed, a personal hammock for reflection, and a private toilet.
Rest assured that your practical needs are handled: a full laundry service is included in the cost of all retreats. Simply place your items in the provided laundry bag, and our staff will hand-wash and fold your clothes, returning them to the common area for collection.
Wholesome, Diet-Compliant Meals
Nutrition is a vital pillar of the healing process. All meals served in our dining room are fresh, wholesome, and strictly aligned with the traditional Ayahuasca diet. Our menu is primarily vegetarian, occasionally supplemented with clean protein like fish or chicken.
We take dietary needs seriously and happily cater to vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free requirements. Furthermore, our fully-tiled kitchen exceeds all Peruvian health and safety standards, ensuring your food is prepared in a clean, professional environment.
The Maloca: Our Sacred Healing Temple
Ceremonies are held within our Maloca, a traditional temple designed to hold a safe and sacred energetic space. For every ceremony, you are provided with a comfortable mattress, pillow, blanket, and all necessary supplies for your purge and comfort.
Beyond night ceremonies, the Maloca remains open during the day as a peaceful sanctuary for meditation, yoga, or quiet contemplation as you integrate your experiences.
Connectivity and Power
While we encourage a "digital detox," we understand the need to stay connected. The Hummingbird offers Starlink Wi-Fi in the common area. While jungle speeds typically range from 2–5 MB/s, this is more than adequate for messaging and essential tasks.
Our center operates off-grid to maintain the purity of the environment. Electricity for charging devices is available in your room during our daily generator hours: 8–9 am, 12–1 pm, and 6–10 pm.
